The Setup Wash
Why the first visit costs more.
A car that has not been cleaned in a while cannot be maintained in an hour. The Setup Wash is longer and deeper: decontamination, a thorough exterior, a full interior and a paint sealant. That sealant is paint protection, a sealant rather than a ceramic coating, and it is the part that makes rain bead and road dirt let go more easily until we next come.
Maintenance costs less because every visit after it starts from a car that was already clean a fortnight ago.
Some people call this valeting and some call it detailing. On this site it is one thing: a first deep clean, then a plan that keeps it.

The short answer
What a detailing maintenance plan is.
A detailing maintenance plan is a standing arrangement to clean the same car on a fixed interval, instead of booking a wash whenever it has got bad. It starts with one deep clean that brings the car up to a known standard, the Premium Setup Wash, and then a shorter visit every week, fortnight, three weeks or month that holds it there.
The first visit costs more because it is doing the work of years of neglect: decontamination, a full interior and a paint sealant. Every visit after it is cheaper and quicker because the car never gets far from clean. On this plan that is £30 to £70 a visit depending on the size of the car and the gap between visits, with no minimum term, no travel charge and the price frozen while the plan runs.
It suits someone who wants the car kept right rather than rescued, and it does not suit someone who wants one clean before selling. The work happens on your own driveway, so there is nothing to drop off and no waiting room.
Two terms
What decontamination and sealant mean.
Decontamination removes what an ordinary wash leaves behind: bonded tar, tree sap, iron particles from brake dust and the rough film that makes paint feel gritty under a fingertip. It is done with dedicated chemicals and a clay bar, and it has to happen before anything is sealed, because sealing over contamination locks it in.
A paint sealant is a synthetic protective layer bonded to the clean paint. It helps water and dirt release, which keeps every later visit short, and it lasts about six months, which is why the plan renews it free at that point.

The price you agree at the start is the price you keep. Prices for new customers can change; yours does not.
A Setup Wash on its own is the same £100 to £175 and is available across the round. Away from the regular villages a one-off visit is harder to place than a plan, so send the postcode and we will say either way.
The Setup Wash happens once. Everything after it is the per-visit price in the frequency column you choose. There is no joining fee, no travel charge and no difference in price between villages.
How often
The shorter the gap, the less each visit costs.
A week of dirt takes far less putting right than a month of it, so the price per visit goes up as the gap widens. Fortnightly is what we recommend for most cars, and it is the interval the maintenance price is built around.
Per visit. More visits still cost more over a year. What you are buying is a car that never drops below the standard.
Weekly
£30 to £48 a visit
The car is never anything but clean. A week's dirt comes off quickly, so this is the lowest price per visit.
Fortnightly
£35 to £55 a visit
The one we recommend for most cars. Short visits, and a car that always looks looked-after.
Every three weeks
£40 to £63 a visit
For cars that do fewer miles or sit under cover, without a full month of build-up.
Monthly
£45 to £70 a visit
Four weeks of road film and interior use takes the longest to put right, so it is the highest price per visit. Best for low-mileage or garaged cars.
Multi-car
Two or more at one address costs less.
Two cars done on the same visit, 10% off both. There is no travel between them, so you should not pay for it twice.

Plan rewards

The maintenance price agreed at the start stays fixed for as long as you stay on a plan. Prices for new customers can change; yours does not.
Free protection renewal at six months
After six continuous months on a plan, the paint sealant from your Setup Wash is reapplied free. It is roughly a £50 job, and six months is when the original coat is due.
Refer someone, get a free visit
Refer as many people as you like. Each one who joins a plan takes a maintenance visit off your next bill.

Recurring card payment
Set up once through Stripe and the maintenance visits are paid automatically. No payment conversation every fortnight.
Pay per visit
If you would rather settle each visit as it happens, say so when you book. It makes no difference to the price or the schedule.
No minimum term. Stop whenever you like. If one is ever introduced, it will be stated plainly before you agree to anything. No payment is taken through this website.

How does the maintenance plan actually work?+
The first visit is a Premium Setup Wash, which brings the car to a clean, protected baseline. We then return weekly, fortnightly, every three weeks or monthly to hold it there, on your driveway. Frequency and price are agreed up front, and there is no fixed term.
How much does it cost?+

Do I have to pay by subscription?+
No. A recurring card payment is offered first because it removes the admin for both sides, but you can pay per visit instead. Nothing is taken through this website either way.
Can I have more than one car on a plan?+
Yes, and it costs less. Two cars done at the same address on the same visit receive 10% off; three or more receive 20% off, because there is no travel between them.
Is there anything you do not offer?+
Odour treatment, because it needs equipment we do not have yet. We do not apply ceramic coatings, and we do not machine polish or carry out paint correction, so a car with swirl marks or scratches in the paint wants a specialist rather than us. Every Setup Wash does include paint protection, in the form of a sealant: it is not a ceramic coating and does not last as long, but it is what makes rain bead and lift dirt off instead of holding it. Everything else on the add-on list is available now: glass sealant, pet hair removal, stain and spill removal, leather cleaning and conditioning, fabric protection, headlight restoration, engine bay cleaning and winter protection.
